American Express announced yesterday that a new Centurion Lounge will be opening in JFK – at last! Scheduled to open its doors in early 2019, the brand new lounge will be located in JFK’s Terminal 4.
According to American Express, we can expect the following of their upcoming new lounge:
- The lounge will span more than 15,000-square-feet across two levels
- The space will feature new amenities, in addition to those already offered at current lounges, such as complimentary custom bar and food menu, premium seating, free WiFi and more
- The Centurion Lounge at JFK will be located post-security on the 4th floor Departures level of Terminal 4
Terminal 4 services a number of international airlines (including Etihad, Swiss, and Singapore Airlines), along Delta. Most of Delta’s long-haul flights depart out of T4 (with the occasional Terminal 2 gate change), so Delta flyers with the Platinum card will enjoy the perks of having two lounges to choose from prior to take off.
After years of wishing the Centurion Lounge in LaGuardia was located in JFK, it’s finally come true! Looking forward to more food and drink options, and hopefully less crowded lounges.
The new lounge will mean Platinum card members will now have 2 lounge options when flying out of Terminal 4 (3, if you count the Wingtips priority pass lounge). Hopefully this will balance the foot traffic at the Delta Sky Club, which tends to become packed during peak hours.
